Delightfully quirky cafe in Keswick that caters for vegans as an integral part of it’s offerings, rather than just as a few options tagged on the side.

Mrs F’s cafe in Keswick is wonderfully cosy and slightly ramshackle collection of mismatched armchairs, tables and sofas that make for an informal and relaxed place to stop and unwind for a moment. It has a wood burning stove, a social table for those who might want to make some friends, a piano customers can tinkle should they wish (discretion advised!), and kids area upstairs with toys and other entertainments.
They have all the usual choices of coffees and a range of teas. Soya milk is definitely available but we’re not sure about other plant milks – our mistake as we didn’t ask when we were there. We will double check and update this entry. They also have various soft drinks.
The website says they will always have one vegan cake but whenever we’ve been there has been more choice than that. They also always have a vegan soup with sourdough bread on the menu as well.
Dotted around the cafe they have vintage clothing and collectables for sale and cards by local artists. They also sell yarn for knitters, although this is likely to be wool so not of interest to vegans.
Overall, Mrs Fs is the perfect place to grab a quick coffee or to spend more time relaxing, avoiding the rain and / or planing your upcoming adventures in the Lakes.
