We popped in here one evening when we hadn’t been intending to eat out, but were browsing menus in Keswick and noticed that they had vegan pizza options. To their credit, they have a vegan calzone which is a rarity across the UK, let alone in the Lake District.
The rest of the menu didn’t have much to offer vegans, so this is really a place to go if you definitely want pizza or calzone, or if you’re part of a group of omnis but want to make sure you have some choice.
The interior is quite modern. It could be a restaurant anywhere, so lacks something of that Lake District charm. However, if you’re townie who needs a break from the rural and rustic (or perhaps your teenagers are!) this could be a welcome change of scenery.
LBs does have the advantage of being open well into the evening. Many of Keswick’s best vegan eateries close at 5pm, so it is good to have some options for an evening meal. At the time of writing LBs is shut due to COVID so I can’t find their exact opening hours, but I will update them as soon as I can.
Overall LB’s isn’t a restaurant we’d make a special trip to revisit, but it’s a good option if you need a reasonably priced evening meal and you’re in the mood for pizza.
